New Law Requires Health Insurance Plans Coverage For Dependents Up to Age 26

Good news to everyone that the new law requires health plans to cover dependents up to age 26. This new law applies to both individual heath insurance plan and group health insurance plan that cover dependents. However, it don’t mention dental and vision coverage.

Based on SFGate:

The new law applies to plan years beginning on or after Sept. 23, 2010. Plans that run on a calendar year must begin covering children under 26 on Jan. 1, 2011.
